Confluence 2026, the photographic exhibition organised by the Photographic Society of Madras was held between June 2-8 at Chennai’s Lalit Kala Akademi.
Showcasing 191 photographs by more than 60 photographers, the exhibit was a blend of vibrance storytelling and quiet observations woven together by individuality and innovation.
From vivid landscapes and rich cultures showcased in street photography to the awe-inspiring moments of wildlife photography and creative expression via monochrome images, the exhibit encapsulated nature, architecture, portraits and more.
With submissions selected by a panel of expert photographers, each image was a glimpse of diverse cultures and lived experiences around the globe.
Enriching and enchanting, each frame was a showcase of talent, dedication and the unique storytelling that rests behind every lens. Laden with legacy, the exhibit which was reignited in 2024 has continued to be a explosion of colours, cultures and visual commentary every year.
Backed by the historic the Photographic Society of Madras – the world’s second-oldest photographic club established in 1857 – the exhibit was an example of how photography has evolved over the years, nurturing new generations of talents to celebrate the stories they capture with care and flair in equal parts.
