neontown lean into modern romance on new alt-pop single ‘Casual’

UK-based pop duo neontown are kicking off their next chapter with the release of “Casual,” a sleek and flirtatious alt-pop track that serves as the first preview of their forthcoming EP.

Originally from Italy and now based in Leeds, Jac and Aure formed neontown during the 2020 lockdown, channeling their individual musical backgrounds into a shared creative vision. Since then, the duo have steadily built momentum through energetic live performances across the UK, appearances at Pride festivals, and the release of two albums, including 2025’s L.A. Fame.

Their latest single explores the complicated space between physical attraction and genuine emotional connection. Wrapped in shimmering synths, driving percussion and an instantly memorable hook, “Casual” captures the push and pull of two people insisting a relationship is uncomplicated while their feelings tell a different story. The track balances playful charm with moments of vulnerability, reflecting the uncertainty and excitement that often come with modern romance.

Sonically, the song blends polished pop production with an indie-pop edge, showcasing the duo’s knack for infectious melodies and emotionally relatable storytelling.

Speaking about the release, neontown describe “Casual” as an introduction to their new creative era, one focused on fun, relatable music that encourages listeners to embrace life’s unpredictability and enjoy the moment as it unfolds.

The single arrives ahead of a series of additional releases planned throughout the summer, building toward the duo’s upcoming EP.
