AAPI Fest 2026 : Houston launches inaugural cultural celebration festival

Houston launches its first-ever AAPI Fest on Saturday, May 9 highlighting diversity with a dynamic mix of food, art, fashion, and cultural experiences alongside a full lineup of live performances.

Bringing together over 100 vendors, live performances, and citywide partnerships at Alief Amity Park, in a landmark celebration of more than 50 cultures.

Presented in partnership with Tokyo X, AAPI Restaurant Weeks, Harris County, and the City of Houston as part of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, the festival is shaped as a meaningful space families and friends to gather, celebrate, and honour tradition and identity.

Taking place during Mother’s Day weekend, the event is not only a platform for connection, visibility, and cultural appreciation but also the perfect opportunity for people to celebrate the women who are the core of our communities.

Participating vendors will include long-standing community staples of Houston such as Godo’s Bakery and Restaurant – one of the most well-loved and established Filipino dining spots in Houston – known for its traditional dishes and baked goods.

Speaking of what we can expect, the team behind the AAPI Fest says, “This marks the first-ever AAPI Fest in Houston, home to one of the largest and most diverse AAPI communities in the country, and a meaningful milestone for OCA Greater Houston. It is also our first collaboration with Harris County Precinct 4 and Tokyo X, bringing together community leadership and cultural platforms in a powerful way.”

“What makes this year especially exciting is the range and caliber of programming. From nationally recognized artists like Gun Boi Kaz to local cultural staples like The Huong Xua Houston Band and Kaminari Taiko, alongside traditional performances including Lion Dance and Polynesian showcases, the festival reflects both the richness and evolution of AAPI culture.”

Described as a festival “designed to bring people together through shared experiences while highlighting the depth and diversity that define Houston,” AAPI Fest 2026 represents a defining moment for the city laden with appreciation for the cultures, traditions, and emerging voices that shape the community.

With Houston already considered one of the most diverse cities in the country, AAPI Fest is built as much more than a festival reflecting Houston’s growth and expansion as a diverse, global city.

Showcasing the influence and visibility of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities across the region, AAPI Fest is free and open to the public.

Bringing attendees from all backgrounds to experience the richness, diversity, and evolution of AAPI culture in one place, come enjoy, experience and immerse yourselves in this cultural bonanza at Houston this weekend.
