Chennai Sangamam, one of Chennai’s most cherished cultural celebrations returns as the city pays homage to the rich history, arts, traditions, and heritage of Tamil culture.
The annual event which kicked off this year on Thursday, January 15 and run till Sunday, January 18 is a grand festival has become a part of the city’s expansive and vibrant cultural fabric since its launch in 2007.
Bringing over 2000 artists from across Tamil Nadu together, the festival will unfold across 20 different locations in the city showcasing a range of awe-inspiring folk performances spanning music and dance.
Visitors can also indulge in endless options of delectable traditional cuisines with over a 100 stalls offering the mouth-watering flavours of Kongu, Chettinad, Arcot, Nanjil, and Delta cuisines along with Pongal specialities. Foodies are sure to enjoy the traditional Kari Virundhu, a generous and scrumptions non vegetarian feast priced at ₹500 per head.
Art and crafts lovers will also have an expansive range of stalls to peruse indigenous art forms and craftsmanship. While the food and arts stalls are charged, the performances across the city are mostly free to attend.
