Valentine’s Week 2026 : Themed activities to spend quality time together ahead of Valentine’s Day

Valentine's Week 2026

Valentine’s Week 2026 is here. Kicking off on Saturday, February 7 and leading up to Valentine’s Day on the 14th, the week is a chance for everyone to shower their loved ones with adoration and attention.

Whether a long-term couple or someone confessing their love for the first time, Valentine’s Week which spans seven themed days of romantic or caring gestures is the perfect way to build up to the big day on 14th.

The week starts with Rose Day, followed by Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day and Kiss Day, culminating in Valentine’s Day.

We’re always thinking of grand gestures to celebrate our love but this Valentine’s Day how about making each day about spending quality time doing a themed activity together?

Rose Day – February 7

Rose Day is all about gifting your loved one rose(s) as a gesture of your love.

But instead of a standard bouquet of flowers, how about learning to make easy paper roses together? Whether you’re a crafty person or not, simple paper crafts (seen in above video) are not about making the perfect piece of art, rather about indulge in the joy of creating something in the warmth and company of a loved one.

If sit down activities are not your thing, why not arrange a rose-themed treasure hunt through your house? Hide roses for your partner to find, leading to a big bouquet or something meaningful like a letter or personalised gift.

Propose Day -February 8

Propose Day is dedicated to taking a step forward in your life – whether that be confessing your love for the first time, proposing marriage or any form of commitment in-between.

Proposals of any sort can be nerve-wracking but instead of overthinking a grand gesture, how about something simple yet meaningful? Try scrap booking your memories together – slip in the ring or your confession at the end of the scrap book to pop your question!

If you’ve got more time on your hands, consider commissioning a custom song or a personalised novel of your love story for a one-of-a-kind memory that lets your loved know how important they are to you.

Chocolate Day – February 9

Gifting chocolates is great, but how about stepping it up this Chocolate Day?

Instead of just buying the chocolate, consider making it! You can even make a date out of it by trying a chocolate making or baking class/workshop together for messy, tasty and fun day.

Or you can do it from home. Simply look up simple, no-fuss recipes to make chocolates from your kitchen. Depending on your preferences, you can try indulgent recipes or healthy ones – but the end goal is making a memory together.

Teddy Day – February 10

Teddy Day is all about gifting a stuffed toy to your loved one as a symbol of your love, affection and care. And nothing says affection and care like a personal touch to your gift.

Of course, you can consider ordering a personalised teddy bear. But what if you take it a notch higher by transforming the teddy into a memory bear.

Memory bears often involve convert a piece of fabric- typically ones that hold special memory to you – into a teddy bear. If you’re good at sewing, you can look up easy tutorials to make your own, maybe using a shirt that you wore on your first date?

However, if you’re not crafty, then you can either commission a memory bear or try something simple like converting a towel into a teddy (as seen in the video tutorial above).

Promise Day – February 11

Promise Day is all about making a commitment to your loved one to strengthen and grow your relationship.

Working on your relationship is an equal-effort activity so why not mark promise day by investing a couple’s journal together to better communicate your feelings. Whether its as simple as recalling your favourite moments together or processing your pet peeves, journalling together is a mindful activity to deepen your bond.

If you’re looking for a gesture that feels more romantic – make a jar of promises together. Sit down and write notes of small promises, reassurances and affirmations to each other to put into a jar together. Once a day – or whenever you need a reminder – pick out a note and indulge in the warmth of knowing how much you mean to each other.

Hug Day – February 12

A warm hug from a loved one can immediately make your day a thousand times better. So, how would it be if they could carry your hug around with them always?

DIY pocket hug cards are a simple craft laden with so much love. These cards can be made from chart paper (one tutorial above) and you could spend Hug Day making each other a hug card – a cute date idea that leaves you with a hug you can carry around with you? Sounds like a dream!

Again, if crafts aren’t your thing. Write “Open When” cards/letters to each other, whether notes of encouragement, tiny reminders of your love for them, sweet love notes or even a small picture of you both together, this uplifting practice is like having a portable hug for when you need a pick-me-up.

Kiss Day – February 13

If hugs are comfort, then kisses are the chemistry in your relationship. Much like Hug Day, who wouldn’t want to carry around their loved one’s kisses?

One popular Kiss Day idea is making a Kiss Card. Women can use their lipstick and kiss a piece of paper to transform it into an adorably romantic DIY gift.

If you’re feeling more playful, consider making “kiss coupon book” aka a silly but sweet collection of reasons to kiss your loved one ranging from quiet kisses and cuddles in bed to romantic kisses at a candlelight dinner.

You can also go the “mixtape route” and make a Spotify playlist of songs themed around kisses.
