The iconic Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar returned to Chennai after nearly a decade, bringing with it the vast vibrance of Indian handicrafts.
Organized by the prestigious Delhi-based Dastkari Haat Samiti, the exhibition which took place at the NIFT Campus in Taramani between January 30 and February 5, 2026 was a showcase of India’s finest artisans, weavers, and crafts rooted in a variety of traditions and cultures.

From exquisite textiles exhibitions to stalls brimming with vivid terracotta pottery, intricate glass work, wooden toys, metal crafts and eco-friendly items like jute bags and handmade paper, each stall was a little peak into a part of India spanning Karnataka and Rajasthan to Gujarat, Odisha and more.
A culmination of skills honed across lifetimes, every piece showcased was a celebration of the artisans’ legacy passed down from one generation to another.
Whether rooted in delicate elegance, bright, bold designs or deceptively simple but stunning artistry, every stall at the Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar in Chennai gave visitors pause – to consider, to appreciate and be awed by the creativity on display.
Established in 1986, Dastkari Haat Samiti which stands as one of India’s most prominent craft organisations continues to empower artisans, honour our cultural practices and regale handicrafts lovers with more than they can feast their eyes upon.
