Greentea Peng
Critically acclaimed singer and songwriter Greentea Peng draws us into a hazy, dub-tinged sonic world on “Prisoners Round”, a slow-burn anthem with a hypnotic undertone.
Produced by longtime collaborator Declan Gaffney (fka St Francis Hotel) , the minimal sonics of sparse drums and sultry basslines strike an intricate balance with the emotional tension of its lyrical themes reflecting on the intensifying pressures of modern life.
Led by meditative vocals sharpened by a touch of quiet defiance, the track is tender yet tough as it warns of how the feelings of being suppressed in our day-to-day life can unravel with collective strain.
An entrancing offering that feels both intimate and intense, “Prisoners Round,” continues to tap into Greentea’s signature blend of spiritual enquiry and social observation.
