Debby Ryan is officially entering a new chapter—motherhood. The former Disney Channel star revealed on September 7 that she and her husband, Twenty One Pilots drummer Josh Dun, are expecting their first child together.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post that quickly captured attention across social media. Ryan, 32, cradled her baby bump while leaning against Dun, 37, who kissed her neck and held up a pair of tiny black-and-white checkerboard Vans sneakers. The caption was brief but telling: “dun&dun +one.” Alongside the intimate photo, the pair also posted an ultrasound image and a playful doodle of themselves with the same phrase written across it.

Friends and fans flooded the comments with congratulations. Actress AnnaSophia Robb cheered, “GAHHHH! Congratulations ❤️,” while singer and fellow Disney alum Hayley Kiyoko wrote, “😭so happy for you guys!!!” Former Disney star Aly Michalka added, “🙌🙌🙌 🙌 so happy for you guys ❤️,” and Jane Levy chimed in, “That’s what I’m talking about ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.” Ryan’s Jessie co-star Kevin Chamberlin also joined in, posting, “So thrilled for you and Josh! Sending you lots of love and good vibes!”
Fans weren’t far behind, calling them the “coolest parents ever” and joking about potential baby names. One suggested, “If it’s a girl: Radio. If it’s a boy: Rebel,” while another teased, “Finally, the 22nd pilot.” A nod to Ryan’s Disney past also popped up: “good thing you have all that nanny experience pookie 😙 congratulations.”
Ryan and Dun’s relationship stretches back more than a decade. The two first began dating in 2013, briefly split in 2015 and 2016, but reunited soon after. By late 2018, they were engaged, and on New Year’s Eve 2019, they tied the knot in a private ceremony in Austin, Texas, only confirming their marriage months later.

Though the couple has largely kept their relationship low-key, they’ve occasionally shared glimpses of their bond. Ryan once posted a throwback photo from their early days together, recalling their first date: “You were only 24 here, before I dyed your hair and you taught me love.”
For his part, Dun told interviewer Kenny Sipes in 2022 that their marriage has been filled with youthful joy. “We live in an adult house and decorate it like kids and do kid stuff in it. We couldn’t sleep the other night so we just hung out in the kitchen and jumped around and ate snacks,” he said, reflecting on how their partnership never felt like the stiff version of marriage he’d imagined growing up.
Now, as Ryan and Dun prepare to welcome their first child, fans are celebrating the couple’s next milestone with the same enthusiasm they’ve carried since the actress’s Disney Channel days and the drummer’s rise with one of the world’s biggest bands.
