Independent hip-hop artist roar taylor amps up anticipation for his forthcoming album while mortals sleep, with his most recent single “all that matters (ode to),” establishing his smooth blend of atmospheric sonics, poignant storytelling and sharp delivery.
With echoing beats nestled against lilting electro-tinged instrumentals, the track showcases his ability to balance gritty, grounding narratives with soaring, ethereal melodies, hinting at what we can expect on this upcoming project.
Set to explore themes of resilience, spirit, gratitude and dedication, while mortals sleep, is shaped as a collection of songs encapsulating daily events and musings. Framed by the epiphany that people are mostly consumed by their own lives and oblivious to everyone else’s until fate intervenes to connect us, the project unfurls taylor’s consistently evolving artistry.
Speaking of what to expect from the project, he says, “What I hope people take away from this project is that it is packed meaning, hunger and high-level writing.”
Having established a powerful yet groovy musicality rooted in ambition,
grief, and resilience, roar taylor continues to cement himself a force to be reckoned with.
