Justin Bieber drops surprise bombshell: ‘Swag II’ arrives tonight

Justin Bieber announces new album Swag II for midnight release

Justin Bieber isn’t letting his foot off the gas in 2025. Just two months after his comeback project Swag shook up his sound and his fanbase, the pop superstar has confirmed he will release a follow-up album, Swag II, at midnight tonight (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT).

The announcement arrived Thursday morning via Bieber’s Instagram, where he revealed the all-pink album cover with the caption: “swag II tonight at midnight.” Billboards in multiple cities echoed the message, fueling excitement that the singer is about to deliver his second surprise drop of the year.

Swag II will stand as Bieber’s eighth studio album and marks a rare moment in his career: two albums released in the same calendar year. The project continues the momentum from July’s Swag, his first record in four years. That album debuted with 163,000 units and 198 million streams in its opening week, powered by the hit single “Daisies,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

While details remain scarce, speculation has been swirling about Bieber’s collaborators. Swag featured appearances from Gunna, Sexyy Red, Druski, Dijon, Lil B, Cash Cobain, Eddie Benjamin, and gospel great Marvin Winans on the closer “Forgiveness.”

Justin Bieber himself co-produced the record alongside Carter Lang, Dylan Wiggins, Daniel Caesar, mk.gee, and others, signaling a more experimental direction that combined loose indie-rock textures with retro R&B and early ’90s pop influences.

The new project arrives at a pivotal point in Bieber’s career, following a turbulent few years that included health struggles, a scrapped tour, a $200 million catalog sale, a high-profile split with longtime manager Scooter Braun, and the arrival of his first child with wife Hailey Bieber. Despite these upheavals, Bieber appears to be in one of his most prolific creative phases yet.

Producer Cash Cobain, who contributed to Swag, hinted at the collaborative spirit Bieber has embraced this year. “We were just in there being free,” Cobain told The Hollywood Reporter in July. “And being creative.”

With no track list, guest credits, or producer lineup confirmed yet, Swag II is arriving shrouded in mystery—but if the past two months are any indication, Bieber is intent on keeping fans and the industry on their toes.
