From Afrobeats royalty to country music favourite, here's Lyrical Muse's New Music Friday picks for the last Friday of June!

From GRAMMY-nominated powerhouses to popular acts returning from hiatus, here’s our New Music Friday picks for this week.

Caleb Hearn – THE LOWS

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Caleb Hearn unveils poignant track “THE LOWS,” a hopeful and touching anthem that pulls us in with its sincere emotion and relatable storytelling,

An intimate production – co-written with pop artist ROSIE – the track pays ode to the comfort of a bond that lifts us up in hard times. The warming number and its sentimental message wraps around us like a hug, as it draws from Hearn’s own relationship with his wife. He says, When we met, she would come visit from her home back in Chicago and stay a few days until I convinced her to move to Nashville. She would always bring a suitcase and that’s where we came up with the line ‘folding one week’s clothes in a suitcase.’”

The glowing vibe of the track is amplified by the accompanying video -directed by Adam Rioux – that paints a compelling road-trip-inspired tale, steeped in love, simplicity, and heartfelt intent to hold onto what’s precious to us.

Known for his resonant and relatable artistry, Hearn will bring his music for the first time to European audiences with a tour scheduled for September. The run of shows will commence on September 11th in London and will culminate on September 24th in Amsterdam. Full tour routing below and for more info, visit https://www.calebhearnmusic.com.

Ethan Healy – RUNNING LAPS

Genre-bending artist Ethan Healy releases “RUNNING LAPS,” his first new song in over two years. An earnest indie-pop number rooted in yearning and self-introspection, the track unveils his evolution and growth as an artist.

With a meditative core that reflects on self-sabotaging tendencies and how we react when things get tough, Healy reflects on how to escape the habits that can pull you back down, weaving thoughtful songwriting and gentle musicality together for an uplifting and powerful anthem.

Having retreated into his love for music as a form of catharsis, Healy has carefully crafted out a space for himself since becoming a full-time musician in 2018. Now as he returns after a hiatus, he is on the cusp of a fresh new sonic chapter.
