Pop star Madison Beer and Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert are engaged, with the singer and NFL star announcing the news in a joint Instagram post on July 28.
The couple shared photographs from the outdoor proposal, including one showing Herbert down on one knee with a ring box as Beer crouched in front of him. Their caption was brief: “meet my fiancé”.
Beer, 27, and Herbert, 28, were first publicly linked in August 2025 after being spotted together in Los Angeles. Their relationship became increasingly public over the following months, with Beer attending Chargers games and the pair appearing together at Dodgers and Lakers games.
Herbert also appeared in Beer’s music video for “lovergirl”, released in May as part of her locket deluxe album. The video features the couple embracing and walking along a beach.
Beer later showed off her engagement ring publicly at the Variety Power of Young Hollywood event on August 5. The large diamond has been widely estimated by jewellery experts to be worth around $1 million, although neither Beer nor Herbert has publicly confirmed its value.
The engagement comes as Herbert prepares to begin his seventh NFL season with the Chargers. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh has previously spoken about the quarterback supporting Beer during her tour. Herbert missed part of the team’s voluntary offseason programme while accompanying her, prompting Harbaugh to jokingly ask whether he needed “a ride to the airport”.
Beer rose to prominence as a teenager after Justin Bieber shared a video of her singing Etta James’ “At Last” in 2012. She released her debut single the following year and has since earned two Grammy nominations.
The engagement announcement quickly drew congratulations from the NFL and Chargers, with the couple’s Instagram post receiving millions of likes within its first day.
