The Star Prairie Project reflects on the repercussions of your choices on "Drunk Out of Your Mind"

The Star Prairie Project meditates on repercussions of your choices on “Drunk Out of Your Mind,” a bluesy ballad from recently released studio album Shadows on the Wall.

An intimate, semi-autobiographical exploration of the heartache of alcoholism, the track takes a gutwrenchingly honest approach to the suffering and pain that accompanies the experience of being around an out of control alcoholic.

Wrapped in layered rock-tinged blues riffs, haunting narratives and the stirring vocals of Sandrine Orsini , the track unfurls the personality changes, the benders, the hangovers and the false promises of a person weighed down by their addiction.

Described as a “bluesy ballad of beware,” the gritty but poignant anthem juxtaposes suffering with hope as it acknowledges the burden of change underpinned by a sense of upliftment.

Speaking of the single, he says, “Nothing is for free. Every thought every action we take has repercussions. Usually friends and family will warn us when our drinking becomes more than just social. Many times alcholics and addicts choose not to listen but this song might be just the message for just the right person at just the right time. You never know. And if it makes one person change their mind and behavior then it was well worth it.”

The brainchild of Wisconsin songwriting Nolen R. Chew Jr., The Star Prairie Project weaves a world that’s anthemic and intimate in equal turns. With each note laden with a signature bluesy sound and poetic storytellling, the project feels as vulnerable as it does comforting.
