New Music Friday: Ellie Goulding, Madonna, Shaboozey and Tinashe

Another Friday, another stack of fresh releases competing for a spot on your playlist.

This week’s selection sees established stars stepping into new eras, long-awaited album rollouts gaining momentum and artists doubling down on the sounds that made them stand out in the first place.

Whether you’re in the mood for shimmering pop, club-ready anthems, cinematic country storytelling or unapologetic R&B swagger, these four releases deserve a listen.

Here are the standout tracks from this week’s New Music Friday.

Ellie Goulding – “Black Prada Dress”

Ellie Goulding kicks off her next chapter with “Black Prada Dress,” the lead single from her upcoming sixth studio album I Know Too Much, due September 4. Built around sharp lyricism and sleek production, the track explores the gap between perception and reality, unpacking the versions of ourselves we create to cope, perform and protect.

Produced by Jack Rochon, “Black Prada Dress” finds Goulding at her most self-aware, pairing biting observations with an emotional undercurrent that lingers long after the final chorus. As the first taste of I Know Too Much, it sets the tone for an album shaped by reflection, transformation, and the complicated freedom that comes with both knowing and not knowing.

Madonna – “Love Sensation”

Madonna keeps the momentum going ahead of Confessions II with “Love Sensation,” a euphoric dance-pop anthem that channels the club-ready energy that helped define her career. Driven by pulsating electronic production, soaring builds, and infectious hooks, the track celebrates love as both an escape and an obsession, delivering the kind of cathartic dance-floor release fans have come to expect from the pop icon.

As the third preview of Confessions II, arriving July 3, “Love Sensation” further hints at a record deeply rooted in Madonna’s enduring relationship with dance music.

Shaboozey – “Cowgirl”

Shaboozey leans further into his cinematic Western universe with “Cowgirl,” a brooding country track that serves as the latest preview of his upcoming concept album The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales. Blending storytelling with atmospheric production, the song follows the tale of Cherie Lee, a woman driven by revenge in a world where love and redemption are never guaranteed.

As one of the key tracks introducing the album’s narrative, “Cowgirl” showcases Shaboozey’s knack for fusing modern country influences with vivid character-driven songwriting, setting the stage for an ambitious record built around revenge, romance, and the myths of the American West.

Tinashe – “Too Easy”

Tinashe steps confidently into a new era with “Too Easy,” a sleek, bass-heavy pop-R&B cut that radiates self-assurance. Co-produced by Kimj and Zack Sekoff, the track pairs thumping production with unapologetic lyrics, as Tinashe reflects on success, ambition and the perception that she makes it all look effortless.

First teased during her Coachella DJ set earlier this year, “Too Easy” captures the singer at her most charismatic and carefree. With its infectious hook and swagger-filled energy, the single serves as a strong reintroduction and hints at an exciting new chapter still to come.
