Nashville-based trio Indigo Syndicate unveils summer anthem “dwn4smr,” a club-ready number that immediately pulls us in with its groove.
Rooted in a heavy bassline, swaggering delivery and sultry lyricism, the atmospheric track brims with feel-good vibes that matches perfectly with the carefree mood of summer.
Speaking of the track, the band says, “This is a let loose song with a simple message about getting down for the summer. Summer is a time of year synonymous with partying and having a good time.”
The offbeat production is accompanied by stop-motion visuals that feels equal parts absurd and oddly charming. Following a little clay character trying his best to impress the ladies by dancing his way through a bizarre world, the video captures the uplifting yet quirky feel of the track to perfection.
About the video, singer Samantha Sanford says, “The song itself is kind of this pointless summer song, so we figured the music video should feel pointless and mysterious too. We love the idea of people finishing one of our videos and thinking, ‘What the hell did I just watch?’ At the same time, we’re all really creative people and always trying to find new ways to express that outside of just the music.”
Consisting of Preston Pospisil, Samantha Sanford, and Jharyss Granger, Indigo Syndicate blends alt-pop, indie and soul to offer textured soundscapes laden with groove and emotional depth in equal halves.
