Earth Day 2026 : 4 sustainable brands making a green impact

As we reflect on the importance of collective action to protect the environment this Earth Day, it’s important to consider how our choices in seemingly simple matters can have a big impact.

In a world dominated by fast fashion and overproduction, make intentional, conscious choices in what goes into our wardrobe – whether outfit or accessories – is a key step in the direction towards a greener future.

In honour of Earth Day, we celebrate four independent brands rooted in pre-loved fashion, sustainable design and alternate materials.

GON Vintage

At its core, GON Vintage approaches sustainability as a lived practice rather than a marketing label. Founded by Shreya Jain during her time in Milan, the brand grew out of an existing habit of collecting and re-wearing vintage garments. Today, it channels that ethos into carefully curated pieces that extend the life cycle of clothing.

By prioritising quality fabrics, timeless tailoring, and one-of-a-kind finds, GON Vintage encourages consumers to move away from disposable fashion and invest in garments that already carry history and longevity, offering a vintage yet sustainable fashion alternative .

The brand’s curation focuses on pieces that feel current despite their age, reinforcing the idea that style does not require constant newness.

Amirah&Aamilah

Sri-Lanka based women’s wear brand Amirah&Aamilah combines self-expression with sustainability with their slow made, zero waste, upcycled fashion.

The self-titled brand, run by twins Amirah and Aamilah focuses on elevating fashion with intentional choices and awareness putting together stunning fits that also ushers in real change.

With materials chosen and each piece made with equal parts care and creativity, the brand unfurls stories laden in authenticity and impact.

Cyron Denim Den

At Cyron Denim Den, sustainability takes shape through process rather than positioning. Founded by Cyron Fay Rodricks in Goa, the label centres on slow, handcrafted denim that rejects mass production in favour of intention and individuality.

Each piece is hand-painted, embroidered, and built from the ground up, often incorporating vintage textiles and existing materials.

From repurposed heirloom embroideries to custom pieces that memorialise loved ones, the brand transforms clothing into something deeply personal and enduring, leaning on a growing preference for quality over quantity in fashion.

 Nīla

Homegrown, women-led label Nīla delivers a graceful blend of functionality and sustainability with their sleek range of travel and tech accessories.

Founded by childhood friends Shwetha Lakshmanan and Pritika Akhil Kumar, the brand’s selection of eco-conscious and vegan accessories spanning wallets and laptop sleeves to toiletry bags, is designed with a long, environmental-friendly future in mind.

Designed and made-in-house using plant-based leather alternatives, Nīla’s approach proves that sustainability in fashion can begin with small changes in vision and creation.
