Watch Eric Dane’s powerful final interview in Netflix’s ‘Famous Last Words’

Netflix has released a posthumous interview with Eric Dane, offering audiences a final, unguarded glimpse into the actor’s life after his death from ALS.

The episode is part of the streaming platform’s intimate series Famous Last Words, where public figures record candid conversations meant to air only after they are gone. The video debuted on February 20 and has already struck a powerful emotional chord with his fans online.

Best known for his roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria, Dane sat down with executive producer Brad Falchuk in November 2025, fully aware the interview would serve as his farewell. Falchuk conducted the conversation on a closed set designed for total privacy — no audience, minimal crew and no distractions. Just reflection.

Dane, who publicly revealed his ALS diagnosis less than a year before his death, spoke with striking candor and no armor. “I can feel lonely in a crowded room,” he admitted early in the conversation, acknowledging the quiet isolation that often accompanied a life in the spotlight. He described himself not as a typical Hollywood leading man, but as resilient and persistent, yet also sensitive, empathetic and deeply devoted to his craft and family.

During the interview, Dane did not romanticize death. “I think when the lights go out, it’s over,” he said plainly, sharing that he did not believe in an afterlife. Yet he approached the end with remarkable clarity and surprising peace. “There’s no reason for me to be happy in any individual moment, but I am.”

The most powerful and deeply moving segment comes at the close, when Falchuk leaves the room and Dane addresses his daughters directly. “Billie and Georgia, these words are for you,” he begins, recalling beach days in Santa Monica, Hawaii, and Mexico — memories he calls “heaven.”

Then, he distills four lessons the disease taught him. “Live now. Right now. In the present. It’s hard, but I learned to do that,” he says, reflecting on years spent replaying regrets. He urges them to “fall in love” — not only with a person, but with something that gives life purpose.

He reminds them to choose friends who “just show up.” And he encourages them to “fight with every ounce of your being, and with dignity,” adding, “This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”

“I hope I’ve demonstrated that you can face anything… You can face hell with dignity. Fight, girls, and hold your heads high.”

In his closing words, he leaves no ambiguity about his love: “Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”

Beyond the interview, Dane continued advocating for ALS research, lobbying lawmakers in Washington and lending his voice to awareness campaigns even as the disease progressed.

The episode stands as both testimony and time capsule. It captures a father, an artist and an advocate confronting mortality with honesty and grace. Take the time to watch the full interview on Netflix. It is raw, reflective, and quietly unforgettable — not simply a farewell, but a legacy.
