The nominations for the BRIT Awards 2026 have been announced with singers Olivia Dean and Lola Young leading nominations with five nods each.
Young has earned nominations for Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Artist, alt/rock act and pop act, with her chart-topping track “Messy” up for Song of the Year. Two of Dean’s tracks – “Man I Need” and “Rein Me In” feat Sam Fender – are also contenders for Song of the Year.
Dean has notched up nominations for Artist of the Year, pop act as well Album of the Year for her record The Art of Loving. Meanwhile, Fender has nods in Artist of the Year, alt/rock act and Album of the Year for People Watching.
K-pop superstar Rosé of BLACKPINK has earned her first ever Brits nominations for her viral hit “APT” featuring Bruno Mars in the international song list – becoming the first K-pop soloist to earn a BRIT nomination.
In addition to Rosé, a number of artists have received debut nominations across the International categories including Bad Bunny, Doechii, ROSALIA and sombr nominated for the first time in International Artist of the Year, while Geese and Turnstile received their first BRIT nominations in International Group
Also making the International list is “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunter is up for International Song of the Year, with Huntr/x earning a nomination in the International Group of the Year category.
Rappers Dave and Jim Legxacy have both earned nominations in the hip-hop/grime act category as well, with Dave also featuring among the Artist of the Year nominees and Jim Legxacy in the Breakthrough Artist category.
Fred again also has three nominations across Artist of the Year, Song of the Year with Mastercard and Dance Act as does Wolf Alice who are up for Group of the Year, Mastercard Album of the Year and alt/rock Act.
Both Jade and Lily Allen feature in Artist of the Year and best pop act lists, while, veteran British band Pulp are in the running for group of the year, notching up their first nomination since 1996.
Meanwhile, actor Cynthia Erivo has also been nominated for Song of the Year for her rendition of Wicked track “Defying Gravity.”
On January 19, Scottish singer/songwriter Jacob Alon was declared the winner of the prestigious BRITs Critics’ Choice award supported by BBC Radio 1 among nominees Rose Gray and SIENNA SPIRO.
The winners of Songwriter of the Year and Producer of the Year are yet to be announced and will be revealed over the coming weeks.
Hosted by award-winning comedian, actor, presenter and writer Jack Whitehall, The BRIT Awards 2026 with Mastercard will take place on Saturday 28th February from Manchester’s Co-op Live.
