On his 60th birthday, Shah Rukh Khan gifted fans something they’ll be replaying all week — the title reveal of his upcoming action spectacle, King. Directed by Siddharth Anand, who last teamed up with SRK for Pathaan, the teaser offers a dark, stylish glimpse into a world where charisma meets carnage.
The teaser opens on a sweeping shot of an isolated island — a fortress or perhaps a graveyard of the powerful — as SRK’s gravelly voice cuts through the silence: “Kitne khoon kiye, yaad nahi… Woh achche log the ya burey, kabhi pucha nahi…” (“How many people did I kill? I don’t know. Were they good? Were they bad? I never asked. All I remember is seeing fear in their eyes, that this is their last breath. And I was the reason for it.”)

The voice belongs to a man who has outlived morality, a mercenary who doesn’t count his kills. And then we see him — a silver-haired Shah Rukh Khan, eyes burning with something colder than vengeance, who walks through smoke and blood.
As he drops his final line: “Main dar nahi, tabahi hoon” (“I am not fear. I am destruction.”), the teaser flashes its final card, literally. SRK flips a King of Hearts card into his opponent’s chest — a clever, self-referential nod to the actor’s decades-long reign as cinema’s “King of Hearts.”

Aside from revealing the title, the 90-second video reintroduces SRK in a darker, edgier and untamed idea. Sources suggest the film will feature dual looks, one with the now-viral salt-and-pepper hair and another revisiting his longer, classic mane.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King also stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead. This marks her sixth collaboration with SRK, along with Jaideep Ahlawat and Suhana Khan in pivotal roles.
While plot details remain under wraps, King is described as a high-octane global action entertainer, and “a brand-new SRK experience.” If Pathaan and Jawan marked his return, King looks like his reinvention.
It’s showtime!
