Leigh-Anne Pinnock is closing one chapter and opening another. The former Little Mix star has released her new single “Dead and Gone,” a bold declaration of self-liberation and the latest preview of her upcoming debut album, My Ego Told Me To, out February 20, 2026.
The track marks a striking evolution for the British artist—dark, pulsing, and unflinchingly honest. Built around a minimalist pop-reggae rhythm, “Dead and Gone” captures Pinnock’s artistic rebirth in real time.
“This song is about letting go of the version of myself that played it safe for too long,” she said. “Killing off the old me so I can make room for the freer, fiercer, and more honest version of myself.”

Produced by Mr Cutts (Stormzy) and co-written with Clarence “Coffee” Jr. (Dua Lipa), the single carries a haunting intensity. Its stripped-back production allows Leigh-Anne’s vocals to take center stage, feeling equally cathartic and in control. “A murder scene, leave her dead and gone,” she sings, turning vulnerability into weaponry.
The accompanying visualiser, directed by Franck Trozzo Kazagui, mirrors that raw defiance. Shot with cinematic precision, it frames Leigh-Anne as both mourner and survivor—a woman burying her past to make room for her next act.
Since launching her solo career in 2023, Leigh-Anne has been carefully carving her own lane. After the shimmering pop of “Don’t Say Love” and the sultry confidence of “My Love”, her 2024 EP No Hard Feelings hinted at experimentation. But “Dead and Gone” feels different—less a statement of intent and more an arrival.
Her debut album, My Ego Told Me To, promises a fusion of pop, R&B, dancehall, and reggae, inspired by her Caribbean roots. “You’ll hear my world in it,” she said. “My daughters, my marriage, my fight for power, and the moment I embraced my fire side and said: no more. This is my show now.”
With over 110 million global streams, two UK Top 40 singles, and a sold-out tour already behind her, Leigh-Anne steps into this new era without hesitation. Her next milestone—the My Ego Told Me To Tour—kicks off April 6, 2026, in Dublin before heading to Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, and beyond.
“Dead and Gone” isn’t just a single—it’s a rebirth. Leigh-Anne Pinnock is done playing safe, and the world is finally seeing her unfiltered truth.
