Cydni Brionne confronts anxiety with faith on new single “bye bye!”

Cydni Brionne turns the exhaustion of living with anxiety into a quiet act of faith on “bye bye!”, her new Soul Blues single. Rather than treating mental health struggles as something to hide, Brionne writes from inside that experience, addressing the turbulent thoughts that can make escape feel impossible.

The song arrives with an official music video which premiered on VEVO and YouTube, extending its message beyond the recording itself. Brionne’s classically trained voice gives the track plenty of room to move, while her blues-rooted songwriting keeps the focus on the emotion underneath it.

She writes primarily with guitar in hand, drawing from personal experience and influences that range from Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway to Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones and Samm Henshaw.

What makes “bye bye!” work is its refusal to separate faith from vulnerability. Brionne isn’t presenting belief as an answer that erases difficult emotions. Instead, she uses the song to sit with them and offer reassurance to listeners who may feel isolated by their own struggles.

“The biggest thing I want people to take away from this release is that they are not alone in their struggles, especially those who feel their mental and emotional struggles are too much for God to handle,” Brionne says.

Since making her debut in 2023, the independent artist has performed at Sofar Sounds, Breaking Sound and House of Blues. Her music continues to occupy the space between contemporary soul and traditional blues, but “bye bye!” is ultimately less concerned with genre than with connection.

Brionne wants the song to reach people at the point where they need to hear that struggling does not put them beyond God’s reach.
