The 68th Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, February 1, wrapping up months of anticipation among fans.
With plenty of moments – from strong political statements to fashion shockers – to remember, the Grammys 2026 was also one stocked full of historic moments , with several artists breaking and setting new records.
From K-pop’s breakthrough in the Grammys to a new youngest winner, here are eight historic moments from this year.
Bad Bunny’s emotional win

Puerto Rican-American rapper and singer Bad Bunny made history with his album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS becoming the first all-Spanish language album to win Album of the Year.
His emotional but empowered acceptance speech made further waves with Bad Bunny also showcasing pride in his identity.
K-pop makes Grammys breakthrough

Viral Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters continues to make waves this awards season as the song “Golden” made it to the record books as the first K-pop song to win a Grammy.
Performed by the fictional K-pop group HUNTR/X (with vocals by Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami), the song won ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media.’
Meanwhile, Rosé‘s nominations in the ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ categories for her sensational Bruno Mars‘ collab “APT,” saw her make history as the first K-pop artist to receive a nomination in the Grammys’ big four categories.
Billie Eilish’s makes a new record

Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas‘s make a new record as their song “Wildflower” wins ‘Song Of The Year.’
Marking not just their 10th total Grammy as a duo, they now hold the record for most Song of the Year wins with three ; previously winning it in 2020 for “Bad Guy” and in 2024 for “What Was I Made For?”
The Grammys gets its new youngest winner

Blue Ivy Carter has relinquished her crown as the Grammys youngest winner – a title she’s held on to since the 2021 Grammy Awards. At the age of nine, she won ‘Best Music Video’ for “Brown Skin Girl” as a featured artist on the track with her mother, Beyoncé.
At the 68th Grammys, Aura V, an 8-year-old from Maryland, finally broke the record as she won ‘Best Children’s Music Album’ with her dad Fyütch.
Shaboozey’s historic country music win
Singer/rapper Shaboozey, became the first Black man to win ‘Best Country Duo/Group Performance’ for his “Amen” collaboration with Jelly Roll.
Dalai Lama’s first Grammy win
The Dalai Lama won his first Grammy award, nabbing the prize for ‘Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording’ for his narration on his album Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Kendrick Lamar breaks Jay-Z’s record

Kendrick Lamar is now the most-decorated rapper in Grammys history with 27 total wins spanning ‘Best Rap Album,’ ‘Best Rap Song,’ ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance,’ ‘Best Rap Performance’ and ‘Record of the Year’ wins.
He also becomes the fourth act ever to win ‘Record of the Year’ back-to-back.
Timothee’s Chalamet’s awards seasons record

Timothée Chalamet whose Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown was nominated for ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media’ gave him a new record.
With this nomination, he became the first man to be up for a prize at the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Actor Awards and the Oscars during a single awards season.
