K-pop idol and GOT7 star BamBam made history at the Australia Open 2026.
On Saturday, January 31, BamBam, a prominent House Ambassador for Louis Vuitton became the first K-pop artist and Asian to present the Louis Vuitton trunk for the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup, establishing his global influence.
The trophy is awarded to the women’s singles champion at the 2026 Australian Open Grand Slam, held at Rod Laver Arena.
The Australia Open 2026 which has been ongoing since January 12 – and set to end on Sunday, February 1 – has appealed not only to sports enthusiasts but fans of global celebrities with the star-studded line-up of guests in attendance.
Besides BamBam, the top celebrities who have been making waves at the AO2026 has been tennis legend Roger Federer, Hollywood actor Gerard Butler, Olympic swimming gold medalist Ian Thorpe, South Korean DJ/singer-songwriter Peggy Gou, Taiwanese singer-songwriter- actor Jay Chou, AFL legend Adam Goodes and fashion influencer Caroline Daur to name a few.
The finals – on February 1 – also saw Thai-British actress Becky Armstrong, DK of K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN, Thai actor Jimmy Potiwihok and Liam Hemsworth in attendance as Ralph Lauren’s VIP guests.
