Beijing Daily unveiled its Film and Television Role Models 2025 Annual Ranking on Saturday, January 31 with renowned celebrities being named the role models of Chinese film and TV for their contributions last year.
Actor Xiao Zhan trended on social media with his win as the ‘Most Popular Actor of the Year,’ for his starring role in Legend of Zang Hai, which also won ‘Most Popular Drama.’
Meanwhile, actress Bai Lu took home the award for ‘Most Popular Actress of the Year ‘ for Northward.
Other highlights included spy drama television series Silent Honor winning ‘Best Drama’ which was also awarded for ‘Best Screenplay.’
Actors Hu Jun and Wu Yue also notched up emotional wins taking home ‘Best Leading Actor’ and Best Leading Actress’ respectively.
The awards which combined public votes, expert reviews, and media evaluations – spanning film, television dramas and variety shows for 2025 – began accepting submissions in mid-November 2025, receiving nearly 200 submissions.
Of the submissions, the top 30 works from each of the two categories of dramas and variety shows were selected to enter the preliminary list of the Film and Television Role Models 2025 Annual Ranking.
The final list of prestigious winners announced today celebrates and honours the best of Chinese entertainment through 2025.
