Spotify’s new beta feature “Prompted Playlists” introduces AI-driven personalised playlist.
The streaming service announced that it’s new feature will allow users to create personalized playlists by writing AI prompts.
Framed as a feature that gives users more control over the streaming service’s algorithm, the “Prompted Playlists” feature lets us describe in detail – with much longer prompts and more specific instructions -what we want to hear with the AI generating a personalised playlist around our tastes based on our entire history on the platform.
Positioned as an upgrade to Spotify’s existing AI playlist option, the new feature allows for more nuanced prompts, as well as offers additional features such as the option to dive deeper into a user’s historical listening data and the ability to schedule how often the playlist refreshes.
The “Prompted Playlists” feature is available only in English at the moment, and is still in beta with Spotify confirming that the feature will evolve before rolling out to other markets.
