The highly-anticipated 2025 MAMA awards kicked off its first day in style, celebrating plenty of talent.

Often hailed as the “Grammys of Asia,” the 27th edition of the annual mega-event – which was returning to Hong Kong after a nearly a decade – was forced to adapt amidst the devastating apartment complex fires which broke out near Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium – the awards venue.

The celebrations -organised by CJ E&M through Mnet- taking place today, Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 was muted and sombre out of respect and safety considerations, with the red carpet segment being cancelled.

Despite this, the main event continued as planned, still managing to deliver a night paid ode to music and fandom. Hosted by the charismatic Park Bo Gum, day one of the event featured a star-studded lineup with performances from ENHYPEN, Hearts2Hearts, (G)I-DLE, TXT’s Yeonjun and more.

From record-break acts to rising next-gen talent, fans were delighted to watch some of their favourite acts win big.

ENHYPEN stood tall, winning their fifth straight Fans Choice of The Year Award in addition to being awarded the Favourite Global Artist Award. Girl band IVE took the win for for Favourite Global Performer and Favourite Female Group with their song “Rebel Heart” winning Global Trend Song.

Emerging group CORTIS established their presence as Best New Artist in the male category with Hearts2Hearts took the price in the female category.
