The City of Light will pulse with runway energy from September 29 to October 7, as Paris Fashion Week prepares to deliver its most ambitious Spring/Summer 2026 lineup in years. Nearly 90 designers will unveil their Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collections, ranging from legendary maisons to rising talents, as Paris reaffirms its role as the industry’s ultimate stage.

This year’s edition arrives with unusual weight: it follows Milan Fashion Week (September 23–29) and ushers in a slate of debuts, milestone anniversaries, and innovations in sustainability that signal fashion’s evolving priorities. The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode has implemented new sustainability standards, while designers are leaning into futuristic textiles, heritage reinterpretations, and immersive show formats.

Among the major draws, Louis Vuitton will mark Nicolas Ghesquière’s 10th anniversary at the helm, while Balmain stages a tribute to its 1945 founding. A special retrospective honoring Alber Elbaz’s transformative era at Lanvin will also feature. These commemorations will unfold alongside new creative director debuts at Givenchy, Chloé, and Maison Margiela, making Paris a proving ground for reimagined house identities.

On the runway, anticipation is already building around Chanel, with Virginie Viard expected to reinterpret Coco Chanel’s Riviera heritage through a Mediterranean-inspired set at the Grand Palais Éphémère. Dior, under Maria Grazia Chiuri, is set to rework 1950s silhouettes with global artisan collaborations, likely at the Tuileries Gardens. Saint Laurent will return to its Eiffel Tower backdrop, where Anthony Vaccarello’s latest collection is rumored to draw inspiration from the house’s provocative 1971 “Liberation” line.

Other heavyweight names confirmed include Miu Miu, Valentino, Tom Ford, The Row, Céline, Comme des Garçons, Isabel Marant, Yohji Yamamoto, Hermès, and Balenciaga, ensuring the week’s calendar maintains its density of headline-making shows.

Emerging designers will also share the spotlight at this year’s Paris Fashion Week. Victor Weinsanto, recently nominated for the LVMH Prize, is expected to deliver his signature theatrical runway; Ludovic de Saint Sernin will expand on his gender-fluid tailoring; Ester Manas continues to pioneer size-inclusive collections; and Ottolinger is anticipated to push further into technical fabrics and experimental dyeing. Their presence underscores Paris’s continued ability to incubate avant-garde voices.

Innovation in show formats is also expected to define this season. Several houses are preparing augmented reality (AR) integrations, while others commit to carbon-neutral productions and multi-sensory environments featuring scent, sound, and tactility. A handful of designers are shifting shows beyond central Paris, activating rarely used historical spaces around the city. For the public, free exhibitions, ephemeral showrooms, and pop-up events will keep the energy citywide, while official livestreams will broadcast roughly 60% of shows worldwide.

For those tuning in remotely, livestreams begin with Saint Laurent on September 29 and continue daily through Pierre Cardin’s finale on October 7. Highlights include Dior (October 1), Balmain (October 1), Rick Owens (October 2), Balenciaga (October 4), Valentino (October 5), Miu Miu (October 6), and Chanel (October 6).

Paris may be the last stop on the global circuit, but with so many anniversaries, debuts, and experimental formats in play, Spring/Summer 2026 is shaping up to be a season where tradition and innovation collide most powerfully in the French capital.
