Stray Kids to release 4th full-length album ‘Karma’ on August 22

Stray Kids announces the release of their fourth studio album Karma, out August 22, with a futuristic concept teaser set in 2081.

South Korean boy band Stray Kids is gearing up for a highly anticipated return with the release of their fourth full-length album “Karma“, slated for August 22, according to an official announcement by JYP Entertainment on Friday.

The announcement was accompanied by the release of a teaser trailer across the group’s official social media channels. The video introduces “2081 Karma Sports,” a futuristic sports-themed concept in which all eight members compete against each other as past champions of an annual event.

Described by the agency as a futuristic sporting spectacle akin to the Olympics or the World Cup, “2081 Karma Sports” is set within an evolved universe of Stray Kids lore.

While further details, including the album’s tracklist, are yet to be disclosed, the teaser signals a fresh narrative direction and continues the group’s trend of conceptual storytelling and high-concept visuals.

“Karma” will mark the group’s first full-length release since “5-STAR”, which dropped in June 2023. In the intervening year, the group released their ninth EP “ATE”, which debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart and surpassed 3 million in physical album sales. The feat earned Stray Kids their sixth consecutive release to enter the U.S. chart at No. 1—an unprecedented record in K-pop.

Stray Kids debuted in 2018 and have since carved out a global presence with hit tracks such as “God’s Menu” (2020), “Thunderous” (2021), “Maniac” (2022), and most recently “Walkin on Water” (2024). Their distinct musical style, marked by self-produced tracks and high-energy performances, has helped position them at the forefront of fourth-generation K-pop.

Currently, the group is on the European leg of their “dominATE” world tour, which spans 34 cities with a total of 55 scheduled shows. This weekend, Stray Kids are set to perform back-to-back concerts in Saint-Denis, France, followed by a show in Rome next week that will bring the extensive tour to a close.

The release of “Karma” marks a pivotal moment in the band’s evolving discography and global career. With a futuristic concept, new storyline, and strong fan anticipation, the comeback is poised to be one of the major K-pop releases of the year.
