Icelandic indie-folk icons Of Monsters and Men break their creative silence after five years as they return with “Television Love” a tender offering layered with time, emotion and honesty.
Written and recorded in their studio in Iceland, the track brims with a quiet reflection as it encapsulates a conversation between two people stretched across time, spanning from hopelessness to hope as life and time changes around us.
The track is elevated by visuals that echoes the song’s themes capturing change and the passing of time. Speaking of the music video, the band shares, “We shot the music video with director Erlendur Sveinsson. It’s centered around a conversation at a dinner table, with the band and the table moving through time and space, through chaos and calm, all while being both connected and disconnected from the surroundings.”
Propelled to the global stage with their breakout 2011 debut My Head Is An Animal, Of Monsters and Men have evolved slowly and steadily from folk-tinged indie darlings – cementing their status as an international powerhouse with each new release.
