Nepal-based, youth-led, non-profit mental health community Project LOUD is encouraging open dialogue and conversations around mental health and suicide prevention with their special exhibition ‘A Thousand Reasons to Stay.’
Put together as part of the community’s September suicide prevention campaign, the ‘A Thousand Reasons to Stay’ exhibit is set to take place this weekend, October 3-4 at Outside Studio, Dhobighat, Lalitpur.
Throughout the campaign, Project LOUD asked people to share their reasons to stay, their hopes and their answer to “What saved you?” through various creative mediums spanning art, writing, photography, music, and more.
Speaking of the exhibit, the community says, “We’re bringing these personal stories and reasons for staying together in one space to create a collective reminder that no one is alone, and that even the smallest reason can be enough to hold on to. And maybe, just maybe, someone who’s been struggling to find a reason will find one hanging on that wall.”
A true, thoughtful community-led initiative shaped by people for people, ‘A Thousand Reasons to Stay,’ evokes hope in the possibility for better days ahead.
‘A Thousand Reasons to Stay,’ exhibit will be on October 3 and 4 at Outside Studio, Dhobighat, Lalitpur, Nepal, from 11am – 5pm. So if you’re around, drop in!
