After years of honing his instrumental storytelling as a guitarist and composer Breath of Illusions marks a new chapter with six-track EP Whispers of Eternity.
Spanning four vocal tracks and two instrumentals, the project encapsulates the emotions, stories and experiences that music can bring forth into our lives, exploring themes of love, fate and vulnerability.
On vocal-led tracks like the introspective “The Light I Didn’t See,” which reflects on the things we fail to realise before it’s gone and the outward-gazing “Before It All Fades” which focuses on the urgency of the damage we’ve inflicted upon our planet, each offering touches on the many parts of our lives we take for granted – whether personal or universal in nature.
Meanwhile, the instrumental productions “Wings of Fate” and “Beyond
Our Dreams,” expand the EP’s musical and storytelling range by exploring ideas and emotions through atmosphere and melody rather than lyrics.
Speaking of the project, he says, “I hope people connect with the emotions and ideas behind these songs and make them their own. I may write a song from a very specific experience or idea, but once someone listens to it, that music becomes part of their story too. If a melody, a lyric, or even a guitar solo makes someone feel something, reflect on their own life, or see an experience differently, then the music has accomplished something meaningful. Ultimately, I want Breath of Illusions to create more than songs — I want to create journeys that stay with people after the music ends.”
Driven by powerful and varied musicality which weaves his penchant for instrumentation with a poignant approach to songwriting and vocal delivery, Breath of Illusions showcases his evolution as an artist as he builds his instrumental storytelling into a diverse world framed by thoughtful narratives.
