Mind Matters Meet-up : Chennai mental health initiative built on creativity and community

Chennai mental health initiative shines a spotlight on nurturing our hearts and minds with expression, communication and creativity.

Mind Matters Meet-up is an initiative led by NGO DORAI Foundation and facilitated by Expressive Arts Therapist Saujanya Prasad, to promote mental health and emotional wellness within a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space.

Taking a wellness approach to mental health, the initiative is rooted in creative, themed activities spanning arts, dance, drama, music and storytelling all underpinned by gentle guidance and psychological expertise.

Best described as “therapy with creativity,” the meet-ups take place once a month in different locations with the primary focus on community, activity and insight.

Speaking of the meet-ups, Saujanya says, “It’s a pre-therapy approach. We gather together in safe and supportive groups and engage in specific creative activity that helps us reflect and introspect.”

Crafted to be a space where we can celebrate our highs and lows with spontaneity, the meet-ups are perfect whether you want to share your burdens and destress, are on the lookout for a supportive community you can meet with regularly or simply wanting to try something new.

Mind Matters Meet-up is a pay-what-you-can initiative. Registration is mandatory to attend the meet-ups, with locations shared once you’ve registered. So give it a shot, and open your horizons with creativity and community!
