ENHYPEN member SUNGHOON is making his way to Italy to participate as a torchbearer in the official Olympic Torch Relay for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
Becoming only the second K-pop artist – after JIN of BTS – to participate in an overseas Olympic torch relay, this historic moment is extra special to Sunghoon because of his personal journey as an athlete.
Prior to his K-pop career, Sunghoon was a competitive figure skater who earned a place on South Korea’s national reserve team. With sports as central to his identity as music, Sunghoon also served as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee last year.
Having been invited to the Winter Olympics 2026 ceremony by Samsung Electronics, his involvement as a torchbearer establishes the global presence and influence of K-pop beyond entertainment.
Fans everywhere have expressed pride at the honour being bestowed upon Sunghoon. Other celebrities confirmed as torchbearers include Heated Rivalry sensations Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie.
