Rachel McAdams received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
With a vast and diverse filmography spanning cult films like Mean Girls, The Notebook, Midnight In Paris and Oscar-nominated Spotlight among much more, McAdams ability to switch seamlessly from comedic to dramatic and everything in between has made her a beloved name among cinema lovers.
Receiving her star at 6922 Hollywood Blvd near the El Capitan Theatre, McAdams attended the ceremony in her with her partner, Jamie Linden and their two children – in a rare public appearance for the family – alongside her About Time costar Domhnall Gleeson, her Send Help director Sam Raimi and costar Dylan O’Brien, as well as her parents.
In an emotional speech, she expressed gratitude to her partner – calling both him and her sister, Kayleen McAdams, her “North Star” – thanking her parents as well as remembered late co-stars Gena Rowlands, Sam Shepard and Diane Keaton.
She said, Thank you for being such a great team. And keeping me quasi-normal.”
Standing as a symbol of consistency and craft excellence, this marks the 2,833rd Hollywood Walk of Fame star since 1961 as McAdams now joins an illustrious list of Hollywood royalty.
