The alluring character teaser posters for upcoming Indian period gangster film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups starring popular Kannada actor Yash has netizens buzzing with anticipation.
Helmed by actress-director Geetu Mohandas of Moothon-fame, Toxic is set to be a groundbreaking moment in Kannada cinema as the the first major Indian film conceptualized, written and shot simultaneously in both the Kannada and English languages.
The character rollout has steadily unveiled a star-power ensemble cast including Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, Nayanthara as Ganga, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca and Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa has set up the dark yet luxurious vibe of the film.
Each character poster highlights the actresses amidst muted yet stunningly vivid backgrounds – spanning graveyards to bars and pubs – establishing the film’s empowering core female characters with intrigue, sensuality and confidence. The final poster nails down the epic feel of the project showcasing Yash walking through fire and smoke in a stylish yet gritty avatar.
Written by Yash alongside Mohandas – and jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash – the film’s production also features National Award-winning cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, composer Ravi Basrur as well as action choreography from Hollywood’s JJ Perry (John Wick) with National Award-winning duo Anbariv and Kecha Khamphakdee.
With the video teaser to release on January 8 coinciding with the actor’s 40th birthday, the film which is set to be dubbed Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam as well as additional languages is an ambitious project that is ready to take forward the international acclaim that Kannada cinema has been receiving in recent times following hits like K.G.F and Kantara.
Scheduled for release on March 19, 2026 to coincided with extended holiday weekend spanning Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa celebrations, Toxic has already cemented itself as one of the most anticipated films of 2026.
