Hilary Duff announces new album ‘Luck… or Something’

Hilary Duff announces her new album Luck… or Something, arriving Feb. 20.

Hilary Duff is officially returning to music. The actor and singer announced that her sixth studio album, Luck… or Something, will arrive Feb. 20 via Atlantic Records, marking her first full-length release in more than a decade.

The news follows months of hints, teaser posters in global cities, and the early-November debut of the lead single, “Mature.” Duff explained the album’s title in a statement, calling it a reflection on surviving and evolving through early fame.

“I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry,” she said in a statement. “The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something.’ Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”

The newly announced project continues a year of strategic re-entry into music for Duff. In September, she signed with Atlantic Records and revealed she is also filming a docuseries about her creative comeback. Directed by Sam Wrench, whose recent work includes Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, the series will document Duff’s return to the studio, her rehearsal process, and her first live performances in more than ten years.

“Mature,” co-written with Matthew Koma and Madison Love, serves as Duff’s first official release since 2015. Its arrival preceded her “Small Rooms, Big Nerves” mini-tour, which begins Jan. 19 in London and stops in Toronto, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles just ahead of the album release.

With Luck… or Something, Hilary Duff is stepping back into a music landscape that has changed significantly during her hiatus — and doing so on her own terms.
