Hulu has officially renewed its hit comedy-mystery series Only Murders in the Building for a sixth season—this time, taking the beloved crime-solving trio across the Atlantic. The announcement came on October 28, the same day the Season 5 finale dropped, confirming that the next chapter will be set and filmed in London.
In a statement, Hulu said:
“Hulu Original comedy series Only Murders in the Building, which hails from 20th Television, has been renewed for a sixth season consisting of 10 episodes. The series will film overseas for the first time, with the beloved crime-solving trio leaving New York City to investigate London’s newest mystery.”
Created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, Only Murders in the Building has become one of Hulu’s most acclaimed originals since premiering in 2021. The show stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora—neighbors in the Upper West Side’s iconic Arconia building who turn amateur sleuths and podcasters after a murder in their building.

Over five seasons, the series has combined sharp humor with intricate mysteries, drawing praise for its inventive storytelling and star-studded cameos. Season 5 followed the suspicious death of the Arconia’s beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), as the trio uncovered a tangled web involving billionaires, mobsters, and New York’s shifting power dynamics. The season ended with a shocking twist: the apparent death of true-crime podcaster Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) at the Arconia gates, setting up the next mystery.
Showrunner John Hoffman told The Hollywood Reporter that Cinda’s death was a deliberate nod to the show’s origins. “It brings us full circle,” he explained, recalling that it was Cinda’s podcast that first connected the trio in the pilot. Hoffman added that setting Season 6 in London felt natural: “The country of Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle is fertile ground for a cozy murder mystery.”
Alongside Martin, Short, and Gomez, actor Michael Cyril Creighton—whose character Howard Morris became integral in Season 5—is expected to play a larger role next season. Tina Fey’s Cinda is likely to feature prominently as the victim, though whether her apparent death is genuine remains to be seen.
No release date has been confirmed, but based on the show’s production rhythm, fans can expect Only Murders in the Building Season 6 to arrive in late summer or early fall 2026. Filming abroad could slightly delay the schedule, though no production setbacks have been reported.
Given the London setting, fans can expect an infusion of British talent to join the mix, keeping with the show’s tradition of surprise guest stars. From Meryl Streep to Paul Rudd, the series has consistently attracted A-list names, and its next chapter is poised to blend old-world mystery with the modern wit that’s become its signature.
As Cinda’s final podcast monologue teases: “a young woman with curls as red as blood, steeped amid the London fog,” the Arconia’s favorite sleuths may soon find themselves navigating murder, royalty, and betrayal in a very different kind of building.
