Shweta first became popular Bollywood with cult song, “Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai,” in the film Ishq. She was also seen Salman Khan starrer Bandhan. She also played roles in films Asoka and Maqbool.

Besides her glamorous roles in Hindi, Swetha made a huge impact in Mollywood with substantial roles in films like Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha, Salt N’ Pepper, Rathinirvedam and more.
Swetha made the bold, much-discussed move to film her real-lie delivery for 2013 film Kalimannu.
In addition she also competed in the Miss India contest and finished as third runner-up.
What is Swetha Menon being accused of?
A FIR was registered on on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) against actor Shwetha Menon under Section 67 A of Information Technology Act, 2000 alleging that the actor had played roles in movies with ‘ vulgar and obscene’ scenes for financial gains.
The complaint also hints that the alleged content was also supposedly transmitted via social media and adult sites for more popularity.
However, a section of actors in the Malayalam film industry has come out in support of Swetha condemning the complaint and speaking out against any moves of defamation.
UPDATE : Friday, August 8, 2025
The Kerala High Court on Thursday, August 7, 2025, stayed further proceedings in the FIR registered against Swetha Menon for allegedly making financial gains through “vulgar” content in her films.
Justice V G Arun expressed doubts about procedural correctness of the lower court, ” considering the short duration between filing and forwarding of the complaint to the police,” according to The New Indian Express.
