BLACKPINK tease ‘Deadline’ world tour with cinematic trailer

K-pop powerhouse BLACKPINK has officially signaled their long-awaited return as a group with the release of a cinematic teaser trailer for their upcoming Deadline World Tour. Posted across the group’s official social media platforms, the 28-second visual marks the quartet’s first group-wide announcement since wrapping up their Born Pink tour in 2023, and signals the start of a highly-anticipated new era.

The sleek, stylized trailer opens in the middle of a sun-drenched desert, where Rosé is seen dialing a payphone, setting off a reunion narrative as her bandmates Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa appear one by one. The four eventually drive off in a fuchsia pink convertible car with a license plate bearing the name of their fandom, “BLINK,” and hit the open road — a striking homage to classic Western cinema, according to their label YG Entertainment.

“This is just the beginning,” YG Entertainment said in a statement. “Everyone involved went all-in to make this a world-class show.” The teaser, filmed in Lancaster, California, is a sharp visual pivot, but not without symbolic weight. It plays on themes of reunion, reinvention, and journeying back to center, a fitting metaphor as the group emerges from a period of solo exploration.

The ‘Deadline’ Tour and New Music Premiere

The Deadline World Tour kicks off on July 5 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. It’s more than just a tour opener — the Seoul concert will also serve as the live premiere of BLACKPINK’s first new song in nearly three years, confirmed by YG on June 23, after a stretch of individual pursuits.

Although the official release date for the new single has not been announced, industry insiders speculate that it could drop on Friday, July 11, aligning with global release strategies that maximize chart impact, particularly on the Billboard Global 200 and U.S. streaming platforms.

The Goyang stadium, which has previously hosted global stars like Coldplay and BTS’ J-Hope, quickly sold out with additional limited-view seats added to meet demand — a clear indicator of the fervor surrounding Blackpink’s return.

The Deadline tour will span 31 shows across 16 major cities, making it one of the group’s most expansive live undertakings to date. Following the Seoul launch, the quartet will head to North America, with four stadium shows slated for Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, and New York in mid-July.

From there, the tour will travel through Europe and Asia, including stops in Paris, Milan, Bangkok, Manila, and a highly-anticipated finale at Tokyo Dome in January 2026.

Solo Highs, Group Synergy

Since 2022’s Born Pink, which earned the group their first Billboard 200 No. 1 and spawned hits like “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down,” each member has launched independent projects. Rosé’s rosie album under THEBLACKLABEL and Atlantic Records, Jisoo’s Amortage EP under her BLISSOO imprint and Warner Records, Lisa’s Alter Ego via LLOUD and RCA, and Jennie’s Ruby through Odd Atelier and Columbia Records have all highlighted their individual artistry and generated significant buzz while setting the stage for BLACKPINK’s next chapter.

As Rosé cheekily wrote in her Instagram story sharing the teaser, “We baccccckkkkkkk.”

The Deadline World Tour isn’t just a concert series. It’s a reset, a celebration, and a definitive signal that BLACKPINK’s collective spark remains as potent as ever. With the first new group song in years set to premiere live on July 5, and a global roadshow that spans continents, BLACKPINK is poised to remind the world — once again — why they remain at the pinnacle of pop’s global elite.
