JADE has officially dropped her latest single “Plastic Box”, offering fans a deeply personal, emotionally resonant pop track that doubles as a dancefloor-ready anthem. Accompanied by a sleek, stylized music video, the song is the newest glimpse into her upcoming debut solo album THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!, which is slated for release on September 12 via RCA.

Best known as a former member of the chart-topping girl group Little Mix, JADE (Jade Thirlwall) is stepping into her own spotlight with confident artistry. “Plastic Box”, co-produced by Oscar Görres and co-written with GRADES and Lauren Aquilina, explores the complex terrain of jealousy and emotional insecurity in relationships — particularly the irrational kind that arises when confronted with a partner’s past.

“”Plastic Box” about that irrational and toxic insecurity within us when we think about our partner’s previous relationships, even though we know everyone has a past,” JADE shared. “It’s a happy-sad pop song and one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written.”

The track blends bittersweet lyrics with a driving house beat and a hauntingly pretty melody, showcasing JADE’s knack for marrying vulnerability with danceable production. The accompanying music video, with visual nods to Madonna’s “Don’t Tell Me”, features bold styling and a heart-shaped mylar balloon, reinforcing the track’s playful yet aching energy.

“Plastic Box” follows the success of JADE’s earlier solo releases including “Angel Of My Dreams”, “IT Girl”, and “FUFN (Fuck You For Now)” — all of which helped solidify her place as a rising force in solo pop. Her momentum has only grown after winning the Pop Act award at the BRITs and earning a nomination at the Ivor Novello Awards for Best Contemporary Song.

Her upcoming album THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY! will include collaborations with Mike Sabath, Lostboy, Cirkut, RAYE, and Pablo Bowman. JADE will also embark on a sold-out headline tour this October and November, with stops across Ireland and the UK, concluding at London’s iconic Roundhouse. She will also play at Glastonbury this weekend.
