Lyrical Muse

The 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards have already handed out a substantial share of this year’s honours, with the first two nights of the Creative Arts Emmys recognising 102 winners across acting, animation, craft, technical and other categories.

Held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the two-night ceremony sets the stage for the televised Primetime Emmys on September 14, which will air live on NBC and Peacock.

Sunday’s ceremony saw Apple TV+’s Widow’s Bay, DTF St. Louis and Prime Video’s Spider-Noir emerge among the night’s biggest winners, while South Park claimed its fifth Emmy for outstanding animated program.

Shailene Woodley also picked up her first Emmy for Paradise, and The Pitt veteran Ernest Harden Jr. earned a guest acting win. Across the weekend, Palm Royale, The Traitors, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny were also among the notable winners.

With the Creative Arts ceremonies now complete, the remaining Primetime categories will be announced next weekend, with Mariska Hargitay set to host the main ceremony.
