YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has married author and content creator Thea Booysen in an intimate ceremony on Richard Branson’s private Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.
The couple’s week-long wedding celebration began around July 14, with approximately 70 close friends and family members joining them on the 74-acre island. Guests took part in activities including snorkelling, kitesurfing and feeding the island’s lemurs and flamingos.
For the ceremony, Booysen wore a custom lace gown by Nicole + Felicia Couture, while Donaldson opted for a Ralph Lauren tuxedo. The newlyweds later shared their first dance to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile”.
Donaldson announced the marriage on Instagram, sharing photographs from the celebration alongside the caption, “I found MrsBeast,” before adding that it was “the best day of my life.” Booysen has since updated her name to Thea Donaldson.
The couple first met in South Africa in 2022, when Donaldson visited Booysen’s home country. They began dating after Donaldson contacted her on X, and made their first public appearance together at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April that year.
Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day in 2024. Speaking about their wedding, Booysen told People that marriage had been their intention since the beginning of their relationship, describing the ceremony as “a formality” after years of building a life together.
The wedding marks the latest chapter in a relationship that has largely unfolded alongside the pair’s respective careers in digital media and content creation.
