The first song from AI-created Indian musical microdrama Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar has arrived, offering an early look at a project that blends generative technology with traditional Indian storytelling. Titled “Angaat Aalay Ka,” the track introduces audiences to the emotional core of the series while spotlighting Maharashtra’s folk influences through music and dance.
Created by Equinox Virtual, the studio co-founded by producer and storyteller Amita Madhvani and filmmaker Ram Madhvani, the multilingual production was built entirely using AI tools. Madhvani co-wrote the lyrics with collaborators and composed the music using the AI platform Suno, underscoring the company’s push to explore new creative workflows without losing sight of narrative emotion.
The microdrama follows Mohini, a talented Kathak dancer whose passion for performance fades after the death of her father, her strongest supporter. Living in Mumbai, she gradually finds her way back to dance, with “Angaat Aalay Ka” marking the turning point where she reconnects with the freedom and joy that once defined her life. The song functions as both the story’s opening musical statement and its emotional catalyst.
“I see myself as a generative creator. Every generation finds new instruments for expression, but the purpose remains the same; to evoke a feeling,” Madhvani said.
“At its heart, Mohini is about what happens when life asks you to put away the thing you love most, and what it feels like when you finally return to it. ‘Angaat Aalay Ka’ captures that first spark; the joy, abandon and passion that make you feel truly alive. AI gave us new tools to create, but emotion has always been the real storyteller.”
The release also signals Equinox Virtual’s broader ambition to build emotionally driven musical microdramas that can extend beyond digital platforms into live performance.
