2ŁØT has released “Iris,” a new single featuring GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist Eric Krasno and The Funky Knuckles’ Ben Bohorquez and Evan Weiss. The track marks the latest preview of the band’s upcoming sophomore album, RE/SOLVE, due July 31.
Driven by warm, infectious grooves, shimmering brass and Krasno’s signature guitar flourishes, “Iris” pairs feel-good musicianship with a message of self-discovery and resilience. The song encourages listeners to recognize their own worth, even when it feels hardest to see on your own.
“For me, the song’s meaning is in the line, ‘Iris, you know how beautiful you are,’” bassist Robert Trusko says. “It’s this idea of self-discovery and self-reflection, and learning your own potential after not knowing your own value or love.”
The song first took shape during a writing retreat in Palm Springs, where an unexpected tempo shift inspired vocalist Rudy Love Jr. to write its defining verse. Later sessions brought Krasno’s blues-infused guitar work together with horn arrangements from Bohorquez and Weiss, giving the track its rich, soulful, jazz-funk edge.
“It was a joy to get on this track with the 2ŁØT crew,” Krasno says. “I love what they do, and I connected with ‘Iris’ right away. The way they blend genres feels completely natural and creates a sound that’s uniquely their own.”
“Iris” continues the rollout for RE/SOLVE, an album that finds 2ŁØT expanding its Electronic Jam Music sound through deeper songwriting and a diverse cast of collaborators, including Jon Batiste, Robert Randolph, Elise Trouw, Cameron McCloud, Frank Moka and Mariel Jacoda.
With “Iris,” 2ŁØT continues to build momentum ahead of RE/SOLVE, giving listeners another taste of the band’s evolving sound.
