The 32nd annual ceremony formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards stepped into a new era on Sunday night, as the newly christened Actor Awards made their live global debut on Netflix.

Broadcasting from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall at 8 p.m. ET, the show leaned into its refreshed identity while holding tight to its core principle: actors honoring actors.

SAG-AFTRA first announced the name change in November 2025, reframing the decades-old ceremony to align with its iconic statuette, long known simply as “The Actor.” On its official website, the union explained that the new title “better reflects its true spirit and position as the only industry honor given to actors, by actors.”

Hosted by Kristen Bell, who nodded to the rebrand in a playful musical moment during her monologue, the night opened with the ceremony’s signature “I am an actor” montage featuring performers including Michael J. Fox.

Later in the telecast, Woody Harrelson presented the Life Achievement Award to Harrison Ford, drawing one of the evening’s longest standing ovations.

On the film side, Sinners emerged as the top ensemble winner, claiming best cast in a motion picture. Michael B. Jordan also secured leading actor honors for his performance in Sinners, while Jessie Buckley won best leading actress for Hamnet.

Sean Penn earned supporting actor recognition for One Battle After Another, and Amy Madigan took home supporting actress for Weapons. Earlier in the evening, stunt ensemble trophies went to Mission: Impossible : The Final Reckoning in film and The Last of Us on the television side.

Television delivered its own emotional peaks. The Studio won best comedy ensemble, with Seth Rogen taking best actor in a comedy series. He also accepted the best actress trophy on behalf of his late co-star Catherine O’Hara, who died in January 2026, offering a heartfelt tribute that hushed the room.

In drama, The Pitt claimed ensemble honors, and Noah Wyle won best actor for his role on the series, while Keri Russell triumphed for The Diplomat. Limited series accolades went to Michelle Williams for Dying for Sex and Owen Cooper for Adolescence.
