Leonardo DiCaprio named TIME’s Entertainer of the Year

Leonardo DiCaprio has been named TIME’s Entertainer of the Year, capping off the sweeping success of his latest film One Battle After Another.

DiCaprio, 51, who has been nominated for seven Academy Awards and won one for The Revenant (2015) has added yet another celebrated movie to his filmography with One Battle After Another, which also DiCaprio’s first-ever collaboration with filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

With critics regarding it as one of his best works to date the film – which has earned nine Golden Globe nominations – explores a father-daughter story rooted in fractured parenthood following a stoner ex-revolutionary (DiCaprio) on his mission to rescue his daughter (Chase Infiniti) from an old nemesis, played by Sean Penn.

Earning one accolade after another, DiCaprio has delivered countless memorable performances over a career spanning 35 years and he continues to remain an enduring presence who has shaped modern cinema.
