IO Interactive is pulling one of hip-hop’s biggest names into Hitman World of Assassination, revealing that Eminem will headline the game’s next Elusive Target mission.
The limited-time contract pairs players with both Agent 47 and the rapper, who enlists the assassin to eliminate his infamous alter ego, Slim Shady, in a surreal, story-driven assignment. The mission will be free across all platforms from December 1–31, accessible through the game’s Starter Pack.
The collaboration arrives on the heels of Eminem’s 2024 album The Death of Slim Shady, which thematically centered on putting his long-running alter ego to rest. IO Interactive weaves that idea into the narrative literally: players will join Eminem — who appears as a briefing operative — as Agent 47 infiltrates a warped version of Hokkaido’s medical facility, transformed into the nightmarish Popsomp Hills Asylum.

Inside, Slim Shady roams through interconnected spaces, including from a fully outfitted broadcasting studio and disorienting performance rooms designed to mirror the character’s fractured psyche. Eminem guides Agent 47 through the mission as players move across distorted hospital corridors, an improvised recording studio, and a bizarre “Group Training Session” where Shady bends the facility’s staff into his plan to weaponize music.
Developed with creative input from Eminem and longtime collaborator Paul Rosenberg, the mission leans into a stylized blend of psychological chaos and sharp nods to the rapper’s catalog.
IOI weaves these references directly into gameplay, from a lethal twist on his signature spaghetti to an eerie in-world rendition of “Houdini,” all set within a fractured environment that mirrors the persona split explored in The Death of Slim Shady. Here, that internal conflict becomes the contract itself, with Slim Shady resurfacing as the target Agent 47 must finally put down.
The mission arrives as part of a broader “Season of Eminem vs. Slim Shady,” a month-long update that adds new challenges, batches of Featured Contracts, and several returning Elusive Targets — including Jean-Claude Van Damme’s “The Splitter” — alongside annual events like Holiday Hoarders and the Hokkaido Snow Festival.
IO Interactive also confirmed that Hitman World of Assassination will launch on the ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally on December 1, with Xbox Play Anywhere support allowing progress and achievements to carry seamlessly between console and PC.
