Known as the “Bugatti Challenge” Ace Hood’s 2013 track “Bugatti,” the trend usually involves two people. It shows one person sitting on the floor, pretending to drive a car as another person off camera pulls their feet to slide them out of the frame.
A hilarious wave of videos that mimic luxury car takeoffs – with the audio “I woke up in a new Bugatti” – have been going viral. The trend has also sparked a renewed love for the song and its cultural impact.
Before becoming a viral social media meme, the song “Bugatti ” from Ace Hood’s Trials & Tribulations album featuring heavyweights Rick Ross and Future was already a massive hit – even charting on Billboard and earning a BET nomination.
When did the “Bugatti” trend start?
The “Bugatti Challenge” trend went viral for the first time in 2023. The origin of the trend is not clear, however, a video from March 2023 seems to be one of the most popular.
In the video, with more than 16 million views as of mid-July 2025, a toddler is seen sitting on the floor before she is yanked off screen when the chorus, “I woke up in a new Bugatti,” plays.
The videos are mainly popular for its chaotic vibe, especially when things don’t go according to plan and people fail to pull each other off screen.
