Sara Angel carves her own path with new single “Echo”

Sara Angel releases dreamy new single “Echo”

Sara Angel may come from Latin music royalty, but her latest single “Echo” proves she’s not banking on legacy—she’s crafting a sound that’s entirely her own.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter, born in Mexico and raised in Texas, is the daughter of renowned Christian artist Priscila Angel and Los Temerarios frontman Gustavo Angel. But “Echo”, a bilingual, genre-defying slow-burn produced by Joey Barba (aka Barbasauce), marks a confident pivot into something unmistakably hers.

The track weaves a dreamy mix of pop, R&B, and Latin influences, opening with hazy guitar lines and breathy vocals before building into a moody, beat-driven soundscape that feels both emotive and immersive. It’s introspective without ever feeling heavy, effortlessly catchy without forcing it—fluid in both language and genre, and confidently unhurried. Much like Sara herself.

“‘Echo’ is about letting go of what no longer serves you,” she explains. “I wanted it to feel like a journey—emotional, but also fun and unexpected. It’s got this dreamy-meets-dynamic vibe that blends organic textures with modern energy. To me, it’s a track that tells a story while still making you want to move.”

After a year at Belmont University in Nashville, Sara took a break from studies to tour with her father, and later, decided to pursue music full-time. “I grew up hearing them sing songs and then singing with them,” she recalls. Still, it wasn’t until high school that she truly felt called to follow music in her own right.

Like many emerging artists, her TikTok presence grew during the pandemic, with stripped-back originals and bilingual covers. A standout moment was her reimagining of her dad’s classic ‘Creo Que Voy a Llorar’—a nostalgic yet fresh take that resonated widely. But “Echo” feels like her real debut. A soft-spoken arrival, but one that lingers.

With more personal material in the works, a follow-up single on the horizon, and a songwriting camp in Nashville underway this spring/summer, Sara Angel is stepping into her own spotlight. Music may run in her blood, but the vision, the sound, the story? That’s all hers.

And “Echo” is just the beginning.
